Coming Up With Creative Writing Ideas
54Coming Up With Ideas
Coming up with ideas for writing can be hard. I have had times where I was in a creative mood and I was all ready to write. I would be sitting with my laptop, time set aside for me to write, and I just stare at the blank screen. Nothing would come to me. I hate those moments.
There are a few things that I have learned that will help you over come these moments. The first one is to read. I'm not saying steal people's ideas, I'm just saying read. When you read, you picture what you're reading and it helps get those creative juices going. I read a lot and sometimes it can help me get going.
Another way is to find something that inspires you. When I was having trouble, I started reading about an author's success. After I read a little of it, I wrote the outline for the sequel to my novel. My only problem is that I can't come up with a title. But that's getting off topic.
Practice is something that helps. The more you write, the fewer of these moments you have. Before I started doing this full-time, I had those moments a lot and now, I don't really have them.
The last thing I do, and I don't know why this works for me, but if I put on certain movies for background noise it helps. "Twilight" is one that helps me, I wrote the first fourteen pages to my novel to that movie, playing it over and over again. It could be because the author of the book it was based on was doing so well, I don't know, but for some reason, it helps me.
I believe everyone has the ideas in them, they just need a little help coming out. If you practice and don't give up, you will do well. These work for me, but they might not work for you, so just keep trying until you find the things that work for you.

Thank you for the encouraging hub! It would certainly inspire people who have a passion to write but have a less talent (Like me!).
